On this site we offer exclusive chess sets, bespoke chess sets, limited editions and many others. We eventually hope to cater for most needs. Our motto; if we haven’t got it we will try to get it for you . If it doesn’t exist we will endeavour to make it for you.
Original set up in the late 1970’s under the name of Oakleaf . Primarily producing sculptures and castings in various materials including Nickel, Chromium and Cobalt steels, bronzes, brasses and resin compounds.
Items sculpted and cast included Dinosaurs, Car Mascots, E.T. And Chess sets.
During the early 1990’s the caricature style was developed under the BHOGGIT label and included models of individuals and pets. There were also special projects, including reproductions of fossils and other artifacts. Many items were featured in the Press and on Television.
From 2000 onwards the Rhuddlan range of chess sets initiated a need for the chess side of the business to bifurcate from ‘other’ sculptures so Chessnuts was created.
Chessnuts still works closely with the BHOGGIT.
Many of the Chess Sets are made in a way that will allow most of the individual pieces (e.g. painted Trumpton Fire Brigade or Rupert figures) to be collected under the BHOGGIT Label.
Other Branches of BHOGGIT Sculptures include R. G. Bargees for scale model canal boats and the Tumblehome label for scale model buildings.
