About Chessnuts
On this site we show unique chess sets and many others figures.
Original set up in the late 1970’s under the name of Oakleaf . Primarily producing sculptures and castings in various materials including Nickel, Chromium and Cobalt steels, bronzes, brasses and resin compounds.
Items sculpted and cast included Dinosaurs, Car Mascots, E.T. And Chess sets.
During the early 1990’s the caricature style was developed which included models of individuals and pets. There were also special projects, including reproductions of fossils and other artifacts. Many items were featured in the Press and on Television.
From 2000 onwards the Chessnuts of chess sets was initiated.
Many of the Chess Sets are made in a way that will allow extra individual pieces to be made (e.g. painted Trumpton Fire Brigade or Rupert figures) to convert the set into a collection
Also under the bhoggit models umbrella are the
R.G Bargees lable for model canal boats.
